Activities for
Australian Cattle Dog
ACD as an active family dog
The predominant field of activity of an Australian Cattle Dog whether in Australia, America or in Europe is as an active family and companion dog. Best known the Australian Cattle Dog is always close to his people, integrated in the family life. For dog friendly children the Australian Cattle Dog gets on well with children! Our dogs live well with our little son, Roxy is bringing him her toy, he takes it from her month and throws to her to bring him it back. No aggression from their side, no jealousness.
But we believe that with any dog breed, the most important is to properly train and treat your dogs. Please go to my album with my son and our 2 ACD dogs.
ACD as an horse riding companion In particular the Australian Cattle Dog likes to be a companion for riding. His low hunting passion and his high will to obey makes him a pleasant and easy companion. Clearly it has to be trained early when you like to have a good companion for riding.
ACD as sports dog: Unfortunately today the cattle dog is fewer and fewer used on cattle, because of the large cattle drives are gone. Thus the cattle dog was looking for a new job. His eagerness to work, speed, strength and agility makes him an excellent partner for many areas of dog sports and even for service dog training, e.g.
-Agility
Especially he likes the employment as a carriage dog, running beside the
horses. His low hunting passion and high grade to obey makes the cattle
dog to a pleasant and uncomplicated companion.
ACD as herding dog: Some of them are still herding cattle, mainly where the activity became a sport.
ACD as tireless rescue dog Born nearby Brisbane, Australia. “Multi Ch. Blucalypth Murphey” is a tested avalanche rescue dog and enjoys the view over the mountains from a just made bivouac. A Multi Champion from a so called "show line" - Multiple International Champion (World, European, German, Slovak), specialty winner (Netherlands, Germany, Slovakia) has also a good working quality. „Mistress what are you doing here?“ Sandy in her training as an avalanche rescue dog with her mistress as an avalanche victim.
ACD as therapy dog
ACD for every circumstances Australian cattle dogs are "the best partner in crime". No wonder, to see often this charismatic fellow for example in the: Movies: Brokeback mountain, Mad Max, Australia,
